Our School

Duran Brothers Jiu Jitsu holds a strong set of values toward growth and community as a family business. Professor Ray Duran leads the way with his sons, Nathen and Erik coming together to form a family trio of instructors. This extends to their two younger brothers and sister who also train in the school. The mix of age and experience allows them to relate with all students, from children to adults. We strive to use our personality and expertise to provide an energetic environment where students look forward to training. Our ability to do so comes from our focus on the details of training and strong communication with students for conversations about life on or off the mat. With our all-around care, every student in our BJJ school has been treated as our extended family since our May 2024 opening! The Duran family’s journey to opening a Jiu Jitsu school together began when Nathen and Erik were just three and four years old. The time spent training together continued as fellow instructors at another school. After years of training, Ray and his two sons decided to embark on a new journey –  leading to Duran Brothers Jiu Jitsu. We hope to continue to leave our mark on the Alamo martial arts community and change lives for the better!

Kids Jiu Jitsu

Our Kids Jiu Jitsu program is designed for children ages 4 to 13 and emphasizes building confidence, discipline, and fitness through martial arts. With a focus on technique, teamwork, and respect, kids learn self-defense skills while developing focus and physical coordination in a fun, structured environment. Whether your child is looking for self-defense, fitness, or a way to make new friends, our program provides a positive and supportive atmosphere for them to grow and thrive.

Adult Jiu Jitsu
(Ages 14+)

Our Adult Jiu Jitsu program (ages 14+) is for anyone looking to improve their physical fitness, self-defense skills, or take their Jiu Jitsu to the next level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, our classes offer a welcoming and challenging environment for personal growth. Learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, refine your technique, and push your physical limits—all while training in a positive, family-oriented community.

Women’s Only Jiu Jitsu
(Ages 13+)

Our Women’s Only Jiu Jitsu class provides a supportive and comfortable environment for women to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at their own pace. This class is designed to build self-confidence, strength, and self-defense skills while focusing on the unique challenges women face in martial arts training. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced grappler, this class creates a positive space for women to train, connect, and grow together.

Wrestling

Strength, Speed, and Skill on the Mat
Our wrestling program is designed for students as young as 4 years old, offering a strong foundation in takedowns, control, and competition-ready techniques. Whether you’re training for sport, self-defense, or just looking for a new challenge, our wrestling classes provide an engaging and structured learning environment. Led by experienced instructors, students develop athleticism, mental toughness, and discipline while having fun on the mats.
